AP Honors student and a member of the National Society of High School Scholars.She has participated in the West Virginia Governor’s School for Math and Science and Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Seminar programs.Allison is the daughter of Brent and Becky Harman of Lahmansville.Allison is a three-sport athlete at the Grant County school, competing in soccer, basketball and track.She is a starting striker with the Petersburg varsity soccer team, earning Maryland-West Virginia All Bi-State honors as a sophomore.As a freshman, she was a WVSSAC State Track & Field Championship qualifier in the 4×400 relay.In addition to her athletic pursuits, Allison is a member of the award-winning Petersburg Viking Marching Band, performing with the band at each football game and throughout its competition season.She is a two-year color guard co-captain, and a member of the Petersburg High Concert Band.

She serves as a volunteer at Grant Memorial Hospital.Following graduation, Allison plans to pursue undergraduate studies in the medical field.During the 2016 Fall Sports season, one high school student athlete will be selected each week as the AARP West Virginia Scholar Athlete of the Week and recognized on the popular West Virginia Metro News High School Game Night program, which airs p.m.– midnight each Friday night on nearly 40 radio stations across the Mountain State.
West Virginia student athletes in Grades 11 and 12 with a minimum 3.0 grade point average are eligible for the award.
Nominees should excel in one or more athletic program, and be active within their community through service and community involvement.
